Admiralty Case listing Colored Names and Addresses


In The District Court of the United States for the Southern District of Alabama, Mobile, Alabama,
Admiralty Case #2357 Re: James S. Patterson, administrator of Estate of Alvie Jones, A.K.A. Alvin Jones, deceased vs Inland Waterways. 1942 
 Alvin Jones, a Negro, was a longshoreman. While employed by Terminals Inc. unloading a barge slipped, fell overboard and drown in the Mobile River.  In court documents his dependents were listed as; 
Lena Jones widow, and minor children under the age of 14, Arthur Lee, Dorothy Ree, Ethel Mae, Ollie James, Ruth Ola, Theresa, and Shirley. [all last names were Jones]  
 Also in court records are the following Colored names and addresses, some with employment info;
